11:51 am Well, I just finished my Government test. I’m fairly pleased, I think I was as ready for it as possible, considering my… tendencies. The multiple guess was a piece of cake, as usual, and the short answer (11 fairly detailed questions, omit one) weren’t too bad. I know I lost a point or two on one – I couldn’t for the life of me remember a current case or topic that’s on the Supreme’s docket – but other than that I think I did all right. I couldn’t skip that particular question, because there was another question I…

Well, tomorrow’s my third government exam. I should do well, but I’m still a bit… worried isn’t exactly the word. Maybe anxious is closer. Either way, I must do really well on it, or else. Blah. Still kicking myself. Originally published at Jen’s Corner. You can comment here or there.

    Skool Daze

School has been going well for me. I really enjoy it, and I look forward to taking more classes. Well, except maybe for the Speech requirement. So far I’ve got a 4.0, but alas, that will change this term. The best grade I can hope for in my U.S. Government (yeah, go figure) class is a B. I was incredibly stupid, and didn’t start my paper until it was much too late, so it was nowhere near complete when it had to be handed in. Yeah. Believe me, I’m kicking myself. Oh well. Onward, and all that. Not sure what…

    Photo post: Backyard

Today was another beautiful day – cool and breezy. I decided to take some pictures in the back yard. My dog is such a ham, he always gets excited when I grab the camera. I didn’t get too many good shots, but here’s some that I liked: Grackle Jake It makes you blink, when 65 pounds of dog comes barrelling at you with that look on his face… Originally published at Jen’s Corner. Um.

So. Yeah. It’s late, I’m crashing, and I’ve got nothing whatsoever to say. Didn’t sleep well last night, so I slept in pretty late today. That, of course, set the tone for today, which means I accomplished absolutely nothing. Oh well, that has its advantages as well. Still got nothing. Laundry tomorrow, and I’ve got to study for a government test that’s coming up. So. Well, that was boring. But it wasn’t a meme, at least! Zzzzzzzzzz.

    Photo Post: Austin Zoo

Today was a beautiful day, cool and clear, so we decided to go to the Austin Zoo again. Bobo the Cockatoo is just inside the gates, and all he really wants in life is a neck scritch. If you succumb to the temptation, Bobo leans into your fingers and closes his eyes in bliss.

    Writer's Block: Short Days

Winter comforts: Sitting on the couch, wrapped up in a blanket, sipping hot chocolate. Warmfuzzysocks. Hot soup and crackers. Austin doesn’t really get that cold, and winters are never winter although we do get “snow” every few years: Sometimes I miss Vancouver, Washington. I used to like the rain, and the green is so beautiful. It didn’t snow often there, either… But snow was close, if you needed it: Sometimes I miss seasons. Originally published at Jen’s Corner. Seinfield post

So. It’s Day 5 of NaBloPoMo and already I’m at a loss for something to post. I’m gonna blame it on having class today and not getting home until late afternoon, and on being up way too late last night. :D You know, lots of times I think “hey, I should post about that” but then I never remember to actually do it. I ought to make notes or something. It’s not like I don’t have nifty gadgets to do it with. ==== Rob’s birthday was today, so he wanted Thai. He’s also off the rest of the week, so…

    Fidgeting

This is the first election in a long time that I haven’t felt only resignation when casting my ballot. I hope that there’s a decisive result tonight. I’m hearing some people say “get rid of the electoral college” – I don’t think that’s necessarily a good idea. Here’s what I would say, if I got to make the rules: Electoral votes should be split – popular vote by district. ALL primaries have to be on the same day. Black out news coverage until the last polls close. None of this “calling” a state with 10% of the vote counted. Wait…
