    Old Cats

Pandora has been not feeling too well lately – not eating, diarrhea, poor grooming. She’s only lost a little weight, but feels thin, and just frail. She’s had several health issues over the last few years. She was diabetic a few years ago (cats apparently can “get over” diabetes – at any rate, she only needed insulin for a few months) and lately has had bouts with pancreatitis and UTIs. Anyway, to try to find out what’s going on we had her in for an ultrasound today. There’s a good chance it’s liver cancer – there’s good size nodes in…

I’ve discovered that I don’t like the pressure of feeling like I have to post every day. I’m going to tough it out though, because I still feel bad about miserably failing the Project 365 photo challenge. At least it’s only one month. Can’t promise any earth-shattering or deeply moving posts though. So, today. School. Government is fun, we’re on the Bill of Rights. Talking about the first and fourth, and the class is an uproar. In American Lit we’ve gone from Thoreau and Whitman to the Declaration of Independence, Abigail and John Adam’s letters, and Frederick Douglass – the…

    Outage

<snork> I attempted to make the following tweet: “LiveJournal down until 2pm – probably longer for me due to TimeWarner’s notorious name server issues.” … only to get this message: Twitter is currently down for database maintenance. LiveJournal AND Twitter down at the same time? COINCIDENCE?? I think NOT!

    Animal Crossing: City Folk

Today was the release date for Animal Crossing: City Folk for Nintendo Wii. Naturally I went out and snagged it as soon as possible! It’s pretty much the same as AC:WW, which was pretty much the same as AC gamecube. If you weren’t obsessed with Wild World, I don’t know that City Folk will interest you much. There’s the same visiting towns that WW had, though I have not yet done that yet. You can send mail to other people’s towns without actually having to be in that town at the time, which is nice. You can also send mail…

    Laziness

Today is Saturday. We need to go to Costco, Petsmart, and pick up a prescription at the vet, but seriously, I don’t feel like leaving the house. It’s windy and it makes me feel like the best thing to do is snuggle up under a blanket and play video games. So, a compromise. :D Today I’m gonna do laundry and study for my American Lit test that’s on Monday, and vegetate as much as possible. Tomorrow, Costco, Petsmart, and GameStop to pick up Animal Crossing City Folk. sqlrob had better get in as much Fallout 3 as he can today,…

I laugh, so that I do not cry

A positive aspect of the Bush legacy The international community now has a potent new motivating tool to dissuade world leaders from engaging in tyranny and aggression — tell them they’ll be like George Bush if they do it: Nicolas Sarkozy saved the President of Georgia from being hanged “by the balls” — a threat made last summer by Vladimir Putin, according to an account that emerged yesterday from the Elysee Palace. . . . The Russian seemed unconcerned by international reaction. “I am going to hang Saakashvili by the balls,” Mr Putin declared. Mr Sarkozy thought he had misheard.…
