Hot. AC is br0ked. It’s 85 upstairs. Also, I bit the inside of my cheek last night and it *hurts*!

Our thermostat seems to be having a crisis. It either wants to make it freezing cold in here or it doesn’t want to turn the AC on at all. It got up over 85 in here this afternoon before I realized I was sweating my butt off and the AC hadn’t been on in forever. Ugh.
Ugh, I know what you mean. Well, it’s getting fixed tomorrow, luckily. Sometime between 8 am and 8 pm. o_O
Ah, the twelve hour window of potential repair. The joy. :D
I poked around in our thermostat last night and bent the little metal bit the mercury switch sits on (my gods, ancient tech) and it appears to be functioning better. It’s just going to have to do, because this weekend is Mother’s Day and no home repairs are getting done. I’m sure I could convince Lin to do it Saturday, but I am already forcing him to go to Mom’s on Sunday, and there’s only so much weekend torture he will tolerate. LOL!
Yeah, usually we get a 4 hour window. :)
We’ve got one of those fancy/schmancy electronic thermostats, that you can program. It’s neatokeen.
We had one of those at the apartment, and that’s what I really want. Every time we are at Home Depot, I point and pout, but Lin ignores me. What I probably need to do is just go buy one and then pretend I am going to do it myself. This usually gets Lin moving on something, because he knows I’d kill myself if I actually DID try to do something like that myself. :D
Open windows? Turn on ceiling fans?
We don’t have ceiling fans, can you believe it?? Gah – they’ve been on the List forever, too. Along with getting a garage door opener.
Yeah, it’s somewhat cooler downstairs, and opening the windows now that the sun’s not hitting them will help. :)
Huh. If you can install them, we’ll give you some. We’ve had a few spare since we moved into this house two years ago. They work but they’re not really worth the effort of selling; you know how it is when you have too much storage space.
Five zero six zero two three zero if you’re interested.
Wow, that’s really nice of you! Our main problem is first overcoming inertia enough to go to Home Depot to look, then comes the almost guaranteed impossible task of finding one we both like. Fun fact: We’ve been married for 6 years (together for 8) and we still can’t agree on a set of everyday dishes. :)
I’m gonna go out on a limb and say that I think both ceiling fans and the garage door opener will be installed by the end of the summer. <snicker>
Well, maybe.
Thanks very much for the thought though!
Hmmmm. M and I have been together for for four years, and last April, we, for the first time, saw art that we both agreed we’d like on the wall of our home.
Of course, we can’t begin to afford it. C’est la vie.
If you get desperate enough to prefer comfort to aesthetics, let us know. If you like, we’ll even let you come by and laugh at our wallpaper (HEY! We BOUGHT the house this way, we bought it for the floorplan and location, the wallpaper isn’t our fault. Neither is the fact that the walls are all still boring white. Yes, “boring white” is an actual color. I think.)
