ooooh… shiny!

This is my first post from Gaz.

I have joined the Dark Side; I have succumbed to the halo effect.

I… own a Mac. A 15″ PowerBook, to be precise.

What's more, I like it. I like it a lot. After my traumatizing and frustration laden attempts at using Linux w/ KDE, I was skeptical. Then I tried Rob's iMac, and it seemed like it'd actually work for me – and I'm finding that I really like it.

I'm posting right now from NetNewsWire, a RSS aggregator that looks awesome. It has a weblog thingy (which I'm using right now just because I can). I'm still going to try out Xjournal, because this thing is really meant for blogging links.

Once I get my crap off the desktop, I'm putting 98se on it and using it for my games. Most of my pc games are pretty old; some wouldn't run at all on 2k or xp, so it'll be nice to be able to play some of those again. The 98 box won't be allowed on the 'net.

Oh yah – Adium is great for instant messaging.

  1. Hehehehehe. Welcome to the dark side :-). Just remember, once you go Mac, you’ll never go back.

  2. Hi!
Personally I am not a Mac person, tho I havent used one in quite sometime. But you have to go with what you like! If thats mac so be it =)

    • If you haven’t tried Mac since before OSX – TRY ONE!!!!
I swore up and down years ago that I would never get a Mac, after I had one eat a disk on me.
Currently posting from an iMac G5. Not exacly a usual Mac user setup either. I have the command line and X11 available on the Dock. I go to command line for many admin tasks instead of using the UI. I use apt-get.

  3. XJournal is coolbeans software, it’s free but I gave money just to keep the goodness going.
