Update… or where the *bleep* has Jen been??

Busy! Just… busy.

There’s one minor drawback to working with one’s spouse and/or housemate, and having only one car: when one half wants to/needs to work late, the other is required to stay as well. Of course, both of us have plenty to do so it’s not really a big deal.

Anyway, we’ve been getting home late practically every night, either due to work or running necessary errands. Besides that, we’ve been watching dvds, playing video games, and reading.

Good news is I can read LJ at work, but I’m usually too busy to do more than skim a few entries. This is not a bad thing, but I’m way behind on my friends list.

The job is great. I actually feel like I’m doing a good job, and it’s even enjoyable. This is completely unlike my last two jobs (the enjoyable part) so I’m really pleased about that. I’m an “intern”, which at my age is amusing, and my “term” was 4 to 8 weeks. Eight weeks is up this week, but I’m pretty sure it’s going to extend.

Working with sqlrob is great. We still yak at each other on IM all day, and now we get to eat lunch together most days. We don’t work together really, though of course it’s related – he’s a developer and I’m QA.

We’re having some guests over for Turkeyday! I’m excited about that, because we rarely have people over. We’re comfortable in our cosy little rut. But it’s nice sometimes to shake it up, and the couple coming over are cool people.

Of course that means we have to get the house presentable. Most of it will be, the rest will just be closed off. I can live with that. <grin>

So today we did some cleaning. I have to say right now that I am deeply in love with both Sally and my dyson vacuum cleaner. Between the two of them, I got in a good aerobic workout today!

Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

    • I (heart) my purple dyson!
Oh yes. The purple one? We have that one and I absolutely love it. It’s a beast to carry, but actually using it it’s light. Stairs are fine, the hose stretches almost forever. The animal turbo attachment is pretty good, but even without it, the vacuum cleaner works great.
We have a lot of pet hair – a cattledog mix and three cats – and it has been fantastic. Emptying the thing is awesome too – I’ve always hated bagless vacuums but this one works the way it should.
      It’s really worth the price.
